Founded in 1884, Ellesmere is an award-winning co-educational boarding and day school which offers students from Yrs 3-13 a platform for outstanding academic success and personal development.
A wide ranging curriculum and activities programme allows each student the opportunity to advance in the Arts, Music, Drama, and Sport, or to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and with exceptional pastoral care and boarding facilities, Ellesmere College allows every pupil to flourish.
From the nurturing Lower School (Yrs 3-8), students join the Middle School (Yrs 9-11) and enjoy a stimulating environment with an extensive academic programme and an even wider range of curricular and co-curricular opportunities. Through Sixth Form (Yrs 12-13), students can choose A levels, BTEC or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or the recently launched International Foundation Programme (IFP).
Ellesmere is the only UK independent school to hold the Arts Mark Platinum Award, and is one of only nine schools in the world to be an accredited Athlete Friendly Education Centre (AFEC) by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS). With seven Sporting Academies, and incredible state of the art world class facilities, pupils can train at every Olympic discipline.
At Ellesmere we believe that developing the whole pupil is much more than just passing examinations; a philosophy which is paramount to the continued success of nurturing our students to be ‘Life Ready’ when they leave.
