Uppingham is one of the UK’s leading boarding schools for boys and girls aged 13-18, drawing around 790 pupils from all over the country and abroad. Located in the rural setting of a small market town in Rutland, Uppingham’s distinctive architecture testifies a history that began in 1584.
Central to a pupil’s life at Uppingham is the boarding house. The House is where pupils eat, sleep, work, socialise, and feel they belong. Each House is run by a Housemaster or Housemistress, assisted by a team of Tutors, and is very much an extended home.
