Haberdashers’ Adams is a selective state grammar school for boarders and day pupils, located in the rural market town of Newport in Shropshire.
Newport is located approximately an hour away from Birmingham and a 90 minute journey from London by train. Our junior boarders (aged 11-15) live at Longford Hall, a Georgian mansion set in 100 acres of grounds and just a short distance from the school. Our recently opened new senior boarding house, Beaumaris Hall, is home to our senior boarders (aged 15-18) who enjoy bright modern facilities and en-suite rooms. Pupils consistently achieve outstanding academic results, with with 74% of A-levels graded A*-B in 2022, however we offer so much more than just examination success.
"Haberdashers’ Adams offers an outstanding academic education in beautiful surroundings with affordable boarding fees."
Although we do pride ourselves on our academic success, the outcome of a school should never be measured only in statistical summaries, but rather it is the journey, as well as the destination of our pupils, that is key to our success. This means we focus on every aspect of the development of our young people – their cultural, physical, moral and social development. We are passionate about helping our pupils to develop as confident, articulate young men and women who are interesting, balanced and who care for each other.
