The Leys School is located in the heart of the historic university city of Cambridge and is the city’s only co-educational boarding and day school.
“The opportunities offered by The Leys’ enviable location in the city of Cambridge are endless.”
Founded in 1875 the school is often described as a “big, small school”; big enough to offer a huge range of opportunities yet small enough that every pupil is individually known.
The school prides itself on its supportive and encouraging ethos which is built on three foundation stones; pastoral, academic and wider-curricular. There are 11 Houses on the 50 acre campus (including 3 Day Houses), forming the basis of the schools excellent system of pastoral care. A carefully planned wellbeing programme is key to this.
Academic results are some of the best in the country; in 2019 The Leys won the Sunday Times East Anglia Independent Secondary School of the Year award for achieving some outstanding A Level and GCSE results.
There are over 100 weekly activities and societies which take place at The Leys each week from sports and debating to sailing and brass band! Pupils are encouraged to become involved in as many activities as possible.
