Brentwood School

Brentwood School, established in 1557, is a large school for pupils aged 3-18, and accepts boarders from 13.

“Alumni include politicians Jack Straw and Andrew Lansley, footballer Frank Lampard, and author Douglas Adams.”

We are situated in Brentwood, a vibrant town in the South East of England, just 20 minutes away from central London by train. We are an all Steinway School with an excellent performing arts department, but also compete at a high level on the national stage in many sports. Our facilities, on a 75 acre site, include a 400 seat auditorium, dance studios, 25 metre pool, fencing salle, athletics track and Victorian Chapel.

Our ISI inspection in February 2019 rated us ‘excellent in every possible area’. Our teaching and learning is first class, and in the Sixth Form, we offer A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma and BTEC in Sport and Business. Our average UCAS points score is 156, equivalent to AAA at A Level. An average of eight students go on to study at Oxford or Cambridge Universities each year, and the majority go to Russell Group/Top 20 universities.
