Brentwood School, established in 1557, is a large school for pupils aged 3-18, and accepts boarders from 13.
“Alumni include politicians Jack Straw and Andrew Lansley, footballer Frank Lampard, and author Douglas Adams.”
We are situated in Brentwood, a vibrant town in the South East of England, just 20 minutes away from central London by train. We are an all Steinway School with an excellent performing arts department, but also compete at a high level on the national stage in many sports. Our facilities, on a 75 acre site, include a 400 seat auditorium, dance studios, 25 metre pool, fencing salle, athletics track and Victorian Chapel.
We are a top 10 IB school (40 points average 2021), with a 70% A*/A A-Level average and BTEC Sport and Business. Our co-curriculum was judged by ISI (2019) to be Exceptional, and we have highlights such as Steinway School Status, second in the UK in fencing only to Millfield (consistently over the last decade), a rich football heritage (Frank Lampard and other professional players are alumni) and a thriving Dance Academy (HL Dance IB offered). We are also a diamond-model school. We are building a new 120-bed boarding house for 2024, and this Autumn we launch our Deferred Entry for 13+ Boarding, for Year 7 students in the UK who would like to join the new boarding house.
