Rated ‘Excellent’ by ISI in 2023, at Giggleswick School you will find a rich and broad education, 500 years of heritage, exceptional modern facilities, and a happy community.
Situated in 215 acres of open countryside in the Yorkshire Dales, our location means that pupils enjoy growing up surrounded by fresh air and beautiful scenery, inspiring them to leave their phones behind and ‘throw themselves in’ to school life. “I’d describe Gigg as a diving board, taking you head-first into experiences you never thought about trying. I barely had a moment to stop and think before being whisked to the next school production, model UN conference, sailing trips - the list goes on.” Duncan (2022)
Giggleswick is renowned for its welcoming and supportive environment. Family-friendly boarding from Year 4, an extended school day during the week, a full day of school on Saturday for Senior School pupils, and a programme of activities on a Sunday means that boarders are never left on their own. Our academic standards are high across a broad curriculum. 80% of our 2023 leavers secured a place at their first-choice university, including Medicine and Classics at The University of Cambridge, Maths at Durham University, History at Exeter University, and Architecture at UCL.
This safe, secure environment is within a 3.5-hour train journey from London, and an hour from Manchester, Leeds, and York.
“How can they bear to tear themselves away from this happy place in the Yorkshire Dales.” Tatler Schools Guide
