Keswick School

Keswick is a beautiful market town in the heart of the Lake District where students can experience an exciting packed activity programme of adventures at weekends. Students are nurtured and supported by an experienced team of caring house staff at Lairthwaite Boarding House who go above and beyond to ensure students have a "home from home" experience.

The house is set on the edge of the school grounds and only a two minute walk in the morning to meet up with friends in school, where students receive an outstanding education from highly qualified, enthusiastic teachers and a supportive pastoral team who are ready to assist and guide students through their own education journey, School experiences are enriched by attending lunchtime and after-school clubs, of which there are many.

Apart from school holidays and May Day weekend, the house is open every weekend and is a very busy place, with only a few boarders going home each weekend. We also have a golden Labrador called ‘Otis’ who loves to be taken for a walk.

A bespoke transport service is available for all boarders to and from local train stations and major airports, (usually Manchester). Boarders travel together in the school mini bus and often arrange the same flights where possible.
