Bruton School for Girls

This is a place where girls are inspired and flourish throughout their time here. The skills of resilience, communication, understanding and teamwork we develop throughout these years will be of even greater importance going forward in an ever-changing world. Consequently, our girls grow into confident, mature and independent individuals, ready to make their mark on the world.

I am who I am today because of Bruton School for Girls. The school challenges me, supports me, nurtures me and believed in me! ‘You can’t explain it unless you’ve been here but the atmosphere, the pupil/teacher relationships and the small class sizes are amazing – I love it here.” Year 10 boarder

Established in 1900 and set in the heart of the beautiful Somerset countryside, only two hours from London. We are extremely proud of our heritage and even more passionate about making a difference in education. Being a small school, we know all our pupils individually and our broad curriculum ensures that we develop the confidence to succeed in life, not just in the classroom

As an academically non-selective school we are extremely proud of our academic results – 50% of ALL pupils achieved an A*/A, 79% A*/A and 94% A*/B at A Level. Through individual support, small classes and focused attention we are able to ensure our pupils reach the very best universities.

This is a very special school, with a big personality and our education goes far beyond the classroom - opportunities to try a wide range of different experiences from Ballet to
Cricket, Kick Boxing to Mechanics, we offer so much more.

Bruton School for Girls is a member of the Boarding Schools Association (BSA) and the Girls’ Schools Association (GSA). We are accredited for the Forces Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA). Forces families who receive CEA support will only pay a maximum of 10% of the full boarding fees. Forces families who do not qualify for CEA funding are entitled to a 25% discount.
