The school works hard to build the perfect study programme for every child, with dozens of subjects on offer. From Music Technology to Mathematics, History to Hospitality, Fashion Design to French, or Classical Civilisation to Countryside Management.
The focus is not only on what a student needs to learn, but on developing attitudes and habits for lifelong success. Milton Abbey has a track record of building confidence in young people and enabling them to succeed, whatever their starting point. Pupils make the most of a glorious rural countryside setting and build lasting friendships.
“Find the perfect mix of subjects, sports and extra-curricular opportunities in stunning British countryside.”
Milton Abbey offers an exciting mix of team sports such as football, rugby and hockey, alongside popular individual pursuits such as golf, tennis, swimming and cycling.
Milton Abbey has a proud connection to the armed forces since 1955, with pioneering headmaster Cdr. Hodgkinson committing the school to a broad, enriching and caring education with the children of service personnel firmly in mind.
That commitment endures today in the school’s ‘Learn Differently’ approach. Its deliberately small size, extensive range of academic and vocational courses, packed co-curricular and sports programmes, and exceptional pastoral care provide exactly the right balance of challenge, adventure, opportunity and support that armed forces families seek.
The school is around two hours from London Heathrow, with free minibus transfers and the option for international students to stay at school during two weekend breaks each term. Milton Abbey is proud of its student diversity. 30% are international students, coming from 22 countries and living in a lively school community where 85% of all students are full boarders.
