Shaftesbury School

Shaftesbury School is a thriving state boarding school in the heart of the British countryside only two hours from London. Shaftesbury School was established in 1718 as a Grammar School and now welcomes students from the surrounding area and from all over the world to our international boarding house.

Boarders make excellent academic progress. Ofsted

All those that visit the school are struck by the warm and friendly atmosphere which permeates throughout the school. Expectations are high and Shaftesbury School has a long history of sending students to Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities. Pastoral care is a key focus for the staff in the school and Ofsted reported that “students behave well and feel very safe in a secure environment.” Whether it is GCSEs or A-Levels you will be supported every step of the way in achieving your goals.

The school boasts excellent facilities and a rich programme of extra-curricular activities are available in sports, the arts, music and drama. The boarding community is small and a real ‘home away from home’. The family atmosphere ensures that students feel supported and comfortable in their surroundings and are free to enjoy all the facilities and activities boarding has to offer.
