Shiplake College

Shiplake College is a thriving independent boarding and day school for 480 pupils, taking boys from age 11 and girls in the Sixth Form.

"Shiplake is a vibrant community where every day brings fresh challenges and new opportunities.”

Overlooking the River Thames in Oxfordshire, the College is situated in an inspirational rural site just two miles upstream from Henley-on-Thames, famous for its Royal Regatta. We are conveniently located 40 minutes from Heathrow airport, and are close to the major railway and motorway networks, with easy links to Reading, London and Oxford.

150 weekly and full boarders become fully integrated into Shiplake’s inclusive and welcoming environment. International pupils join us from all over the world, and represent approximately 5% of the school. A thriving programme of boarding activities ensures all boarders are fully engaged.

Shiplake is a friendly and supportive community in which pupils can flourish. We embrace pupils from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds as well as diverse intellectual and physical talents. We have a formidable reputation for sports, particularly in rowing and rugby, and offer excellent music, art and drama opportunities and an exciting co-curricular programme.

Shiplake prides itself on bringing out the best in each and every individual and is renowned for its outstanding pastoral care and academic and personal value-added.
