Queen’s College

Queen’s College Taunton is a flourishing co-educational day and boarding school situated on the outskirts of the historic county town of Taunton in the south west of England, overlooking the picturesque Quantock and Blackdown hill: areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Queen’s College, Taunton – one of the top academic schools in the South West of England – prides itself on providing an individual education with family values. Queen’s College has a long-standing reputation for educating children from military families and is delighted to offer a Service Family Package to run alongside the MOD’s Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA). The offer means families in receipt of CEA pay just 10% of boarding fee, all meals, laundry and local trips are included in this fee.

“ Queen’s provides an individual education with family values”

Queen’s is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, small class sizes and outstanding pastoral care. Mutual respect and positive attitudes allow students to take informed risks, make mistakes and learn in a supportive and empowered way. From an academic perspective, Queen’s has a 99% GCSE pass rate and 81% of students achieved A*-C grades at A Level in 2021, the vast majority took up their first-choice place at university. With just over 500 students, including 180 boarders, Queen’s has wonderful facilities and offers excellent teaching with small class sizes, which are reflected in outstanding exam results.

A huge variety of co-curricular activities take place across the Year Groups and the school has a richly deserved reputation for its performing arts. On the sports field, more than 20 students have represented their country on the international stage in recent years while Queen’s is also a centre of excellence for outdoor education and has one of the region’s largest cohorts for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Our boarding houses reflect the warm and friendly community feel that is found across the whole school. Each Boarding house has a genuine family feel with dedicated residential houseparents and assistants.
